CT Dahlia Society-Special Notice
We need your help!
Elizabeth Park and Dahlias go hand in hand. It is unbelievably rewarding to have literally thousands of people view and enjoy our Display Garden every Summer. But, there are now only a limited number of members who care for the garden. You can imagine the time commitment involved.
It doesn’t have to be this way. If our membership takes an active role with the success of the Display Garden, many hands would make light work. If we can get enough to help, the time commitment might only be every other week. The work can be done mornings, afternoons or evenings, so the time frame would be according to your schedule. We connect via email so there are not regular meetings to attend.
We recognize that many may not be comfortable with what needs to be done. So, we plan on having several “hands on” meetings at the Display Garden. We will demonstrate the work involved through every stage of development. Learning how to grow dahlias is the goal!
The first special meeting will be:
Monday, June 25, 2018
The Display Garden at Elizabeth Park (close to the greenhouses.)
Instruction by Jesse Peterson and Sal Corio
Please feel free to bring your friends and family! We have no doubt that you will see how rewarding your efforts will be. If anyone is interested, we can head to the Prospect Café (345 Prospect Ave. West Hartford) after the demonstration to continue our Dahlia Discussion.
We would like an idea of how many to expect so please contact us through the website if you would like to participate.
Thank you in advance!
