President’s Message:
Hello Members:
The growing season is complete. We are all facing the task of digging, washing, labeling and storing our favorite flower. To make this task easier I tell myself it’s a “Labor of Love”. Since they perform for us, it’s our turn to take good care of them.
CDS has once again proved to be a society of great dahlia exhibitors taking many prizes at the shows of our sister societies. Our end of season Best Bloom Contest filled our meeting room with many beautiful flowers. Jesse Peterson, Marilyn Lonergan and Marge Schnerr were the winners.
Also, thanks to Jesse Peterson for doing our educational class on cutting and dividing our tubers. A great deal of information is always available at our educational classes.
We have begun planning our annual Holiday Party. It is being held at the San Marino Restaurant located at 111 Thomaston Avenue in Waterbury. It is scheduled for Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 1:00 PM. There will be three menu choices which we will post in our December Newsletter. CDS pays a generous portion of the charges. Please mark your calendar to attend. It is a great time to chat with fellow club members.
The November meeting is the time for nomination of new officers. There are two positions open which are President and Vice-President. Barbara LaRochelle our Secretary, Sal Corio our Treasurer and Marge Schnerr our Editor will remain on. Please consider taking a post. New ideas can always help our society.
Also, please remember to renew your membership with this accompanying form.

Greenwich Dahlia Society to host 2016 NADC Show:
The variety that the Greenwich Dahlia Society has chosen for the “Neckerman Classic” will be “Embrace” a top winning dahlia since it was introduced in 1999. So plan now to order it if you do not already have it in your collection.
